Q. When I try to enter notes, a no sign appears next to the cursor and I cannot enter any notes.
Are you trying to enter notes in the area for pre-measures (measures before the first measure begins, in the area with negative (-) measure numbers)?
You can enter notes in the first and subsequent measures only.
